The Challenge

Struggling with High-Cost, Low-Consistency Metal Parts?

Many buyers face the same problems when sourcing small, complex metal parts in volume. You are not alone — and there is a better way.

CNC Machining Is Too Expensive

Cutting complex shapes from solid bar wastes material and drives up unit cost — especially at 1,000+ pieces.

Inconsistent Batch Quality

One batch fits, the next does not. Poor dimensional control leads to assembly line rework and angry customers.

Supplier Communication Gaps

Language barriers, missed deadlines, and unclear inspection reports make sourcing from overseas stressful.

Our Solution

Powder Metallurgy Solves All Three

Also known as the press-sinter process, powder metallurgy forms parts near-net-shape in a single pressing step — slashing material waste and machining time.

As your China manufacturer and supplier, YiguProto gives you one accountable partner from the first quote to the final shipment.

  • Near-net-shape forming — complex shapes pressed in one step, minimal machining
  • Material savings >98% — almost no scrap, lower unit cost at volume
  • Self-lubricating controlled porosity stores oil for bearings and bushings
  • Batch-to-batch consistency — every part meets the same spec
  • Factory-direct pricing — no trading company markup

How It Works

Our Complete Powder Metallurgy Process

Every step is controlled in-house at our China factory, from powder blending to final inspection.

01

Powder Mixing

We select the right metal powder, lubricant, and alloying elements for your part's application. A stable blend improves formability and final strength.

02

Compaction (Pressing)

The mixed powder fills a precision die and is pressed under high pressure into a “green compact” — already close to the final shape.

03

Sintering

The green compact is heated in a controlled furnace with a protective atmosphere. Metal particles bond, giving the part strength and structure.

04

Sizing & Calibration

For parts with tight assembly needs, we calibrate critical dimensions through sizing to hit the exact tolerance.

05

Secondary Machining

Threads, precision holes, keyways, chamfers, and mating surfaces are machined to meet your functional dimensions.

06

Heat Treatment & Surface

Carburizing, hardening, or carbonitriding for wear resistance. Then oil impregnation, blackening, plating, or coating as needed.

Materials

Materials for Every Application

Not sure which alloy fits your part? Our engineers will recommend the right powder metallurgy material based on your drawing and performance needs.

Iron-Based

The most common choice. High strength, hardness, and wear resistance. Ideal for structural parts, gears, and bearings.

Stainless Steel

304/316L, 410/420, 17-4PH. Corrosion resistance, rust prevention, and a clean appearance for demanding environments.

Copper & Bronze

Controlled porosity holds lubricating oil after impregnation. Great for self-lubricating bearings and bushings.

Alloy Steel

Transmission parts and load-bearing structures. Heat treatable for higher hardness, wear resistance, and longer service life.

Applications

Parts We Make Every Day

Powder metallurgy is ideal for complex small parts made in medium to high volume. Here are the most common.

Gears

Teeth formed in a single press — no hobbing needed. Lower cost per unit at volume.

Bushings & Bearings

Porous structure stores oil for self-lubrication. Low friction, stable ID/OD.

Sprockets

Tooth profile, hub, and bore formed in the die. Combined with heat treatment for wear life.

Pump Rotors

Oil pump, inner/outer, and hydraulic gears. Precise tooth profile and concentricity.

Structural Components

Complex shapes formed in one step. Less machining, less material waste.

Lock Components

Small complex metal parts with contours, holes, steps, and functional surfaces.

Automotive Parts

Engine, transmission, and seating components. Cost-effective with batch consistency.

Electrical Contacts

Copper-based alloys for conductivity, heat dissipation, and wear performance.

Finishing

Surface Treatments & Secondary Operations

Improve rust resistance, wear, lubrication, appearance, and service life based on your part's operating environment.

Oil Impregnation

Vacuum oil filling for self-lubricating bearings.

Black Oxide

Corrosion resistance with a clean black finish.

Electroplating

Zinc, nickel, or chrome for rust and wear protection.

Powder Coating

Durable color coating for appearance and protection.

Heat Treatment

Carburizing, hardening, carbonitriding for load-bearing parts.

Steam Treatment

Seals surface pores and improves rust resistance.

Resin Impregnation

Seals porosity for pressure-tight applications.

Machining & Grinding

Threads, holes, keyways, and faces to final tolerance.
