The Problem We Solve
These are the problems buyers tell us about every week. Here is how we take each one off your desk.
A simple flat face or keyway does not need a big CNC setup. Shaping gets it done with a single-point tool at a much lower cost.
Long keyways and dovetails are slow on a mill. A shaper cuts them straight and clean with the right single-point tool.
Out-of-flat or out-of-square parts will not assemble. We control flatness and squareness and check them before shipping.
Slow setups delay your build and cost you sales. Quick shaper setups mean most parts ship in 2 to 6 business days.
Cheap quotes often grow after you pay. Our quote is itemized and final, with no surprise charges for setup, tooling, or packing.
Sending files to a new supplier feels risky. We sign an NDA before you share anything, and your design stays yours.
Our Solution
YiguProto is a shaping company based in Dongguan, China. We own our machine shop and quality lab. That means no middleman, no markup, and no finger-pointing.
From your first drawing to the last shipped carton, one team handles DFM review, fixturing, shaping, inspection, and delivery. You always know who to call.
Overview
In plain words: a single-point cutting tool moves back and forth over a fixed part. The tool cuts on the forward stroke, and the part feeds sideways a little between strokes. Repeat, and you get a flat, accurate surface.
Shaping is simple and flexible. One sharp tool can cut a flat face, a keyway, a slot, or a dovetail, so there is very little tooling to buy. Setup is fast, which keeps the cost low for small batches and one-off parts.
It is also good for large or awkward parts, such as machine beds, frames, and heavy castings, that are hard to hold on a mill. When a feature is faster to mill, we say so and quote the better process.

Capabilities
Real numbers, so you can spec your part with confidence.
±0.05 mm typical. Flatness of about 0.02 to 0.05 mm over the surface.
Up to about 900 mm, for long keyways and large flat faces.
Ra 3.2 to 1.6 µm typical. Follow with grinding for a finer finish.
Single-point tool. Very low tooling cost and a fast setup.
Cast iron, steel, stainless, aluminum, brass, bronze, and plastics.
From 1 part to a few hundred per run. No strict MOQ.
Most parts ship in 2 to 6 business days after quote approval.
Flatness, straightness, and keyway checks with gauges, CMM, and roughness testers.
Our Solutions
One single-point tool covers many features. Here are the jobs we run most often.
Flat faces on plates, frames, bases, and castings, cut flat and square for assembly.
Straight keyways and slots in shafts, hubs, and pulleys, cut to width and depth with clean walls.
Dovetail and T-slot profiles for machine ways, tables, and fixtures, cut with the right form tool.
Square steps and shoulders for locating, seating, and alignment of mating parts.
V-grooves and angled faces for locating, clamping, and guiding round or angled parts.
Simple splines and formed profiles cut with a shaped single-point tool, without special fixtures.
Compare Your Options
All three cut flat surfaces. The right choice depends on part size, volume, and shape.
The single-point tool moves back and forth; the part feeds sideways. Best for small to medium flat faces, keyways, and dovetails at low cost.
The part moves back and forth; the tool feeds sideways. Best for very large flat surfaces such as machine beds and heavy plates.
A rotating cutter removes material fast. Best for complex shapes and higher volumes, with a lower cost per part.

Materials
Shaping handles both soft and hard materials, including heavy castings and forgings. Need something special? Just ask.
Material certificates are available on request. We machine from plate, bar, tubing, castings, and forgings.
Finishing
Shaping gives a good, flat base. Add a finish when the surface or look needs to be better.
Clean cut finish around Ra 3.2 µm. Fast, lowest cost, and ready to use.
A light final pass for a smoother surface and tighter flatness, without grinding.
We remove burrs and add chamfers so edges are safe and parts seat cleanly.
Follow shaping with grinding for a finer finish and tighter flatness on critical faces.
A uniform matte texture that hides tool marks. Good for cosmetic and grip surfaces.
Painting, black oxide, or powder coating for protection and a finished look.
Quality Control
Precision is a process, not a promise. Here is how we control it at every step.
We inspect castings and forgings for cracks, porosity, and alignment before we cut.
Tools are checked and resharpened on schedule, so surfaces stay clean and sizes stay stable.
We watch feed, depth of cut, and speed to prevent size drift across the run.
Flatness, straightness, and parallelism are checked with gauges and dial indicators.
Critical sizes are measured on a CMM, and surface roughness is checked with a tester.
FAI, GD&T, and dimensional reports ship with your order on request.
Industries
Our shaped parts help teams build and repair equipment across many industries.
Beds, ways, dovetails, and T-slots for machines, jigs, and fixtures.
Flat bases, frames, and keyways for large, heavy machinery parts.
Jigs, fixture plates, and repair parts cut quickly and at low cost.
Flat locating faces and fixture parts for tooling and assembly work.
Flat seats, shims, and repair parts for pumps, turbines, and equipment.
Base plates, mounts, and fixtures that must sit flat and square.
How It Works
A clear, proven process with no surprises. You always know where your project stands.
Send your 3D CAD file or 2D drawing with material, quantity, and finish needs. Get a quote and DFM report within 24 hours.
We confirm the process, the number of setups, and the fixturing, then you approve the quote.
The part is clamped square and true, and the tool is set to the right depth and stroke.
We take roughing and finishing passes to bring faces, keyways, and slots to size.
Flatness, squareness, and sizes are checked with gauges, CMM, and a roughness tester.
Parts are deburred, protected for transport, and shipped with tracking to your door.
Design Tips
Good design for manufacturing (DFM) lowers cost, reduces defects, and speeds up delivery. Here are the basics.
Shaping is at its best on flat, straight surfaces. Group flat faces on the same part to save setups.
Leave room at the ends of a stroke so the tool can enter and exit without hitting a shoulder.
State keyway width, depth, and tolerance, and use standard sizes so no special tool is needed.
A flatness callout tells us how flat the face must be. It matters more than the overall size.
Very deep, narrow slots need special tooling. If a slot is deep, milling is often the better route.
Chamfers and small radii protect edges, ease assembly, and avoid sharp burrs after shaping.
